To prevent you from feeling overwhelmed by the vastness of the Tipiṭaka and thus hesitating to explore this treasure for yourself, we have compiled a number of suttas into books arranged by themes suitable for lay followers.
The page numbers of the main sections are aligned across all four language versions for convenient reference. You only need to choose the file with the book code + the language you want and download it from Page BS1.1 – Buddhist Library.

Book 1 (Code BS1.1): Living a Family Life in the Light of the Dhamma
A handbook recommending selected suttas (some with summaries) from the Early Buddhist Canon suitable for lay followers. It covers many practical themes for daily life such as ways of living, dealing with others, stories of past lives, and basic Dhamma.
Book 2 (Code BS1.2): Buddhist Fairy Tales
This book provides full translations of selected suttas about the Buddha’s previous lives taken from the Khuddaka Nikāya of the Pali Canon. It is suitable for all ages, especially children, as these suttas resemble fairy tales yet are deeply rooted in the Dhamma. Imagine being able to tell your child: this is not a make-believe story, but a true account — listen carefully and follow the Buddha’s teachings. The feeling of sharing the same faith in the Dhamma with your children is truly wonderful.
Due to limited resources, the English, Taiwanese (Traditional Chinese), and Chinese (Simplified Chinese) versions rely mostly on Google Translate. While not entirely accurate, they still convey the essential meaning.
For the books we compiled, we provide two formats: PDF for easy reading and WORD for those who wish to edit them as they like.
We also attach the complete set of Vietnamese and English PDF files of the Pali Canon for your convenience in reading and reference. If you wish to download each book separately, please visit link BS2.
During the compilation process, errors are inevitable and improvements are still needed. Please leave your feedback in the comments section of the post.
We hope these books will serve as little fireflies — their light may be small, but it will help make your journey on the Noble Path less difficult.
